Veronique Meggett began her artistic journey at just 20 years old as an entrepreneur in San Antonio, where she showcased her signature airbrush artwork. From those early beginnings, Veronique has built an impressive and diverse portfolio that spans wall murals, custom airbrushed automobiles, and fine art pieces in acrylic and oil paint on canvas.
Her passion for visual art led her to earn an Associate Degree in Graphic Design, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In 2012, she moved to Houston and expanded her impact as an Art educator for five years at Michael's Craft Store in Katy, TX. Understanding the importance of introducing students to the fundamentals of art at an early age to develop a lifelong appreciation and inspire future artists, Veronique pursued certification as a PK–12 TEA-certified art teacher. Today, she is headed into her ninth year of public school teaching.
Committed to making art accessible and engaging, Veronique hosted her own mobile Sip & Paint events beginning in 2018 for residents throughout Houston, Austin, and San Antonio. These events provided a casual, fun setting where participants of all skill levels explored their creativity. Currently, sightings of her public art can also be seen throughout Sugar Land, TX, as part of the Sugar Land Traffic Box Art Project.
Today, with over 35 years of experience as an Elementary Art educator and as an accomplished fine artist specializing in oil painting, acrylics, airbrushing, and graphic design, she is Co-Owner of The Artful Scholar. Through The Artful Scholar, Veronique provides art lessons for students of all ages who are serious about developing their artistic skills. Her personalized approach ensures that each student receives instruction tailored to their unique goals and interests in a one-on-one or small-group setting.
Our experienced and dedicated teachers are committed to helping students achieve their goals. They are passionate about teaching and are always looking for new and innovative ways to help students learn. Registered with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), both teachers have a combined sixteen years of experience in public education classrooms.
